Dr Noffisat Oyindamola Oki is a Bioinformatics Scientist at Douglas Connect.

She is a computational biologist with experience in applying bioinformatics methods, statistical approaches and data mining methods to data analysis and research. Her expertise has been applied to leading and providing support for toxicology, human public health and ecological data studies as well as to studies geared towards methods development for the analyses of these types of data.

Dr. Oki received her Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Mathematics from Shaw University in Raleigh North Carolina, and her doctorate in Bioinformatics from North Carolina State University in 2012. Her doctoral work was focused on developing methods for predicting complex disease susceptibility in human populations.

Before accepting her current position at Douglas Connect, she was an Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) post-doctoral fellow at the US Environmental and Protection Agency’s (EPA) National Health and Environmental Effects Research Laboratory. While there, her primary project involved Adverse Outcome Pathway (AOP) discovery and development with a specific focus on the computational and bioinformatics methods to generate and accelerate AOP discovery and assembly.
